Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Vanilla, coconut, pineapple, and toffee aromas fill out the aromatic profile, while on the palate, you will notice essence of citrus, toffee, and caramel.
Vineyard Notes
Spring was very warm resulting in an earlier than usual bud break. Good weather continued until Late Summer where it started to cool off early September through November. Being situated high atop of the valley, our Hawthorne Mountain Vineyard was kept free of botrytis due to the high winds keeping fruit relatively dry. 2019 is a big year for Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir with later ripening varietals having more of a lighter approach.
Production Notes
The grapes were picked from our very own Hawthorne Mountain Vineyard on September 20th. The fruit was very pristine which we celebrated as this was a year when many other growers faced mildew challenges in the Okanagan. Once pressed, it was fermented and stored in oak until the oak influence melded perfectly with that of the fruit.
Food Pairing Notes
Our Chardonnay pairs wonderfully with prawn macaroni and cheese, chicken kiev and crab cakes. For cheese pairings, try with Garroxta, Brin D'Amour, Camembert & Brie.
