Pulled Pork Sandwiches
- 3 lbs boneless pork shoulder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsps liquid smoke
- 3 cups BBQ sauce
Cut the pork into large 4-inch pieces, season on all sides with salt and pepper.
In a slow cooker, add water, liquid smoke and pork. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours, until the pork is fall-apart tender.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and discard most of the remaining liquid (keep 1/4 cup of the liquid in the pot). Shred the pork using forks. Place the meat back in the slow cooker, add the BBQ sauce and heat through or keep warm for several hours.
Serve with buns, extra BBQ sauce and coleslaw for a perfect summertime meal!
